In traditional documents, you can insert a definition list as a separate clause by automatically generating it using the document toolbar. In binders, you may run into the situation of having certain defined terms in one document and other defined terms in another. There are two ways to resolve this issue:
- Create a separate definition list for each separate document.
- Create a single, encompassing definition list for all documents in the binder.
In ClauseBase, these two options are represented by a local and a global definition list, respectively. They can be accessed by clicking the button in the document toolbar and choosing one of the two options presented:
The global definition list will add all definitions that have been selected in the “terms” menu of the operations panel in a single list – perfect for a separate definition annex.
The local definition list will add all definitions that have been selected in the “terms” menu of the operations toolbar AND are actually used in the document in which it is inserted.
